Multiple blockchain ecosystems are emerging that offer unique and distinct attractions to users and application developers. However, communication between ecosystems is rare and fragmented. The Axelar stack provides a decentralized network, protocols, tools, and APIs that allow for simple cross-chain communication. The Axelar protocol suite consists of cross-border routing and transport protocols. A decentralized, open network of validators powers the network; anyone can join, use it, and participate in Byzantine consensus, cryptography, and incentives designed to enable the unique security and liveness requirements for cross-chain needs.
